Themes of 6th forum:

The European Forum on the Rights of the Child is an annual conference organised by the European Commission.

Developing evidence-based child-friendly policies

As identified in the EU Agenda for the Rights of the Child, the absence of reliable and comparable data is a serious obstacle to promoting child-friendly justice and improving the protection of children when they are vulnerable.

In order to address this obstacle, the European Commission will launch a data gathering exercise in view of developing child-friendly policies. Participants of the Forum exchanged views on the key information and data needed and discussed examples of best practices in collecting relevant data.

Communicating children's rights

Communication on the Rights of the Child is crucial for the effective protection and promotion of the Rights of the Child. Forum participants shared their experience and expertise on how best to communicate children's rights to various audiences.

Who attended?

This conference gathered key actors from European Institutions, EU Member States, Ombudspersons for children, international organisations and NGOs.
