  3. Date launched: 26 November 2010
  4. Short description of the Charter
The Austrian “Charta der Vielfalt” was launched in November 2010 as an initiative of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Vienna Economic Chamber based on an idea of factor-D Diversity Consulting. From 11 signatory companies at the beginning, the Charter has grown now to more than 140 signatories, including companies from both private and public sectors.
The charter’s objectives are to combat discrimination in multiple areas such as gender, age, ethnical affiliation, skin colour, disability, sexual orientation, religion and values. With their signatures, companies, organisations and public entities formally express their appreciation and respect for diversity. They commit to carry out measures to promote diversity internally and externally.
Signatories include: Hewlett-Packard, IBM Österreich, Microsoft Österreich, Novartis Pharma, TNT Express (Austria), UniCredit Bank Austria, Western Union Financial Services, BAWAG P.S.K., Österreichische Volksbank, Secretary Search, Equalizent, Schweidler&Comfort4all, Perspektiven Mensch&Wirtschaft.
The Patrons of the Austrian Charter are Dr. Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and KommR Brigitte Jank, President of the Vienna Economic Chamber.
The Charter has celebrated its 100th signatory on the occasion of the Diversity Day 2013, on 11 June.
