The 2011 summit's central central theme focused on finding ways to involve regional and local levels more when fighting discrimination. The Work Forum on the implementation of the UNCRPD
The Work Forum brings together representatives of the governance structures set up under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the EU Member States, to discuss implementation and share national experiences.

The Access City Award is given yearly to one EU city for its demonstrated commitment and the comprehensive achievements in improving accessibility in the urban environment for the benefit of persons with disabilities and the population at large.

Communication on Roma integration strategies
The Communication





















should ensure that EU countries adopt an effective approach to Roma integration especially in four priority fields: education, employment, health and housing. It sets up a monitoring mechanism and proposes solutions to more effective use of EU funds.
