Fifth European Equality Summit – Poznan, Poland

Equality summits are organised every year in order to advance equality for everybody in the European Union and to develop new ways of combating discrimination. The 2011 summit's central central theme focused on finding ways to involve regional and local levels more when fighting discrimination. It mapped out future courses of action for different stakeholders to improve the way inequality and discrimination are handled regionally and locally

The Work Forum on the implementation of the UNCRPD

The Work Forum brings together representatives of the governance structures set up under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the EU Member States, to discuss implementation and share national experiences.

The Access City Award - launch of the competition

The Access City Award is given yearly to one EU city for its demonstrated commitment and the comprehensive achievements in improving accessibility in the urban environment for the benefit of persons with disabilities and the population at large.

Communication on Roma integration strategies

It sets up a monitoring mechanism and proposes solutions to more effective use of EU funds.

Roma Summits bring together representatives of EU institutions, national governments and civil society organisation. The first Summit promoted a firm commitment to tackling problems and creating a better understanding of the Roma across Europe.
