Information campaign

"For Diversity. Against Discrimination" is a high profile, EU-wide information campaign, which was launched by the Commission in June 2003.

"For Diversity. Against Discrimination"

The aims of the campaign are:

  • to raise awareness of the existing anti-discrimination legislation and of discrimination in general; and
  • to promote the benefits of diversity.

These aims are still relevant today, with recent surveys showing that much remains to be done if we are to eliminate discrimination completely in the EU. The campaign will work to meet these challenges, and through informing citizens of their rights and responsibilities, empower those suffering from unfair treatment to take action.

Through seven years of EU wide activities, the "For Diversity. Against Discrimination " campaign has gained visibility at both national and European level. In the coming years, the campaign will, through the consolidation and development of activities and channels of communication, inject new energy and impetus into this work.

Posters on all discrimination grounds, produced during the 2012 advertising campaign, can be ordered from the EU-bookshop
