PROGRESS programme

The European Commission supports Member States and civil society in combatting discrimination through the PROGRESS programme Choose translations of the previous link :

  • An annual call for proposals Choose translations of the previous link  'Support to national activities aiming at combatting discrimination and promoting equality' allows national authorities in charge of equality and non-discrimination to implement antidiscrimination projects for different target groups, including age.
  • The Commission supports financially civil society organisations who are promoting the rights of persons related to age like AGE Platform Europe.

For the 2014-2020 period the Commission has proposed that the Antidiscrimination and diversity strand of the Progress programme will be integrated in the Programme Rights and Citizenship to be implemented by DG Justice. The Commission proposals for the 2014-2020 period and the respective budget are currently under negotiation with the Council and the European Parliament.

Youth in Action

Youth in Action is the Programme the European Union has set up for young people. It aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future.

Youth opportunities initiative

The Initiative is a set of measures, planned for 2012 and 2013, to drive down youth unemployment. It is part of the EU's Youth on the Move education and employment initiative
