7th European Quality Conference - ‘Towards Responsible Public Administration’
From 03/10/2013 to 04/10/2013
The European Quality Conference is a bi-annual event whose main aim is to promote the application of quality management and other development initiatives among EU Member States’ public administrations.
The 7th edition of the conference is organised by the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union together with the European Public Administration Network (EUPAN - an informal network of the Directors General responsible for public administration in the EU Member States and the European Commission) and EIPA, the European Institute of Public Administration.
Over two days, the event will provide a platform for European public sector organisations to share their good practices and experiences of modernisation in the challenging context of an ongoing economic crisis and increasingly changing public needs and expectations. Various topics centring around the headline of the conference, “Towards Responsible Public Administration”, will be presented and discussed.
Keynote speakers will present key issues pertaining to public sector modernisation and development. Topics to be addressed include: the efficient and smart use of resources; the implementation of quality management methods and their results; accountability and responsiveness of public administrations and civil servants; and openness and transparency of public administrations.
Margarida Abecasis, head of the ISA unit at the European Commission’s DG for Informatics will give a speech on the ISA Programme.
Participation is free of charge. For more information, please check the event website.
