Introduction on Interoperability opens Czech conference on EU Strategy for Growth and Employment
The European Commission's ISA programme (Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations) will be one of the first topics presented during a conference on the EU's Strategy for Growth and Employment, organised by the Czech Ministry of the Interior in the city of Prague on 20 February.
The conference, titled 'National Info Day on EU Programmes in Information Society', will take place at the Ministry of the Interior.
How the European Commission facilitates efficient and effective cross-border electronic collaboration between European public administrations, is the subject of a presentation by Margarida Abecasis, Head of Unit at the DG DIGIT, the DG responsible for the ISA programme. ISA's activities are one of the three topics covered by this one-day conference.
The main theme is to highlight the opportunities offered by the EU's ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP). This funding programme can support projects that apply ICT in smart and innovative ways to solve Europe's challenges in areas such as health and ageing, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and efficient public administration.
ICT PSP primarily supports solutions that serve the public interest, or that create new business opportunities for small and medium enterprises.
The third topic on the agenda of the National Info Day is on the EC's work to make the Internet safer for children and young people. The 'Safer Internet' programme fights illegal content and harmful conduct, including grooming and bullying. This work also includes funds, meant to help develop expert knowledge of the risks and consequences of online technologies for children's lives.
The conference is open to all, however registration is required. Most of the interventions will be in Czech.
