On the first anniversary of the UK/EU referendum, the Brussels-based European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will hold a conference in Dundalk on the impact of Brexit on border communities.

The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mairead McGuinness, will open the session on June 23, which will gather civil society representatives from all EU Member States to assess the economic, social and political implications of any type of UK withdrawal from the EU.

The exhibition features EU volunteers working with organisations across Europe as well as local volunteers working on humanitarian projects across Asia, Africa and Latin America.

It will be open to the public on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm from 12 to 30 June at Europe House,

In cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland, the Embassy of Hungary in Dublin is hosting a photography exhibition on ’’Hungarian Freedom Fighters”. The photos of the 1848 Hungarian freedom fighters were taken by photographer József Plohn in 1902 and the photos of the 1956 Hungarian revolutionaries were taken by photographer Mihály Dömötör in 2006 respectively.

On 22 June 2017 the European Commission is hosting a conference on construction and demolition (C&D) waste which brings together Irish players from the field to share best practices as well as new opportunities.

The conference takes place on Thursday morning 22 June (starting at 9 a.m.) at Europe House, 12-14 Lower Mount St, Dublin 2.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is organising a debate in Dublin to hear Irish civil society's views on the five scenarios for the future development of Europe outlined by Jean-Claude Juncker in the European Commission's White Paper on the Future of Europe.

The debate will take place on Wednesday 7 June (starting at 8.15 a.m.) at The Oak Room, Mansion House, Dawson Street, in Dublin.
