The European Commission supports a wide network of Information providers in Ireland including the Europe Direct Information Centres. There are 8 such centres in Ireland. The centres maintain stocks of relevant EU publications and are available to deal with any queries in relation to EU matters. Established on 1 May 2005, the centres will gradually increase the services that are available to the general public which will include the supply of publications, replying to general EU related queries, internet access to EU websites, providing speakers on EU issues and promotional events to inform on the EU and its policies.
