Call for Applications for Irish-language translators
The Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) of the European Commission is seeking to recruit translators on the basis of temporary contracts of a maximum duration of three years.
Place of employment: Brussels.
Successful applicants will be required to translate documents into Irish from English and a second official EU language.

- be nationals of an EU Member State;
- be university graduates, having completed a first degree of at least three years' duration;
- have a perfect command of Irish, an excellent knowledge of English and a very sound knowledge of a further EU official language;
- be prepared to relocate to Brussels if they are recruited.
Documented experience in translation, language-related qualifications or translation-related qualifications would all be assets. After screening the CVs submitted, the selection board will invite the most suitable applicants to sit the written selection tests (Tests A and B) scheduled for January 2015 in Dublin and, if appropriate, in Brussels. Candidates who obtain the pass mark in Tests A and B, will be invited to sit the oral test (Test C) scheduled for March 2015.
