It is highly recommended to schedule the regeneration of a big batch of documents outside standard working hours in order not to impact the other users of the CWCMS who might be working at the same time as you do.
In this purpose, there is a function in the CWCMS that allows you to delay the regeneration of your subsite (and child subsites) to "tonight".
But what time is "tonight" exactly?

When a power promote is performed on a WIP document, an Active rendition is generated.
No Staging rendition is generated.
The purpose of this document is to explain why.
The concept of batches: document groups are processed as a whole instead of individual documents.
"Batches" in this context is a generic term that includes two distinct concepts:
- The User Actions: a User Action is a kind of container that includes several items (e.g. documents) and actions on these items.
- The phases: a User Action is made up of a sequence of phases.
The implementation of these concepts modifies the way the CWCM works.
Only Internet Explorer 7 or 8 that have JRE 1.6.0_20 installed are able to fully use the CWCM.
Internet Explorer 9 can also be used but with the "compatibility view" enabled.

In the scope of the rationalisation of the European Commission website, several actions have been taken and others are undergoing.
The CWCMS in place since 2005 and the phasing out of one component ("Web Publisher 6.5") gives us an opportunity to catch up with the constant evolution of WEB communication tools.
Therefore we ask your valuable contribution to assess your current publishing situation and express your views on the future global publishing system functionalities that the Commission will have through this survey, open from 2 to 20 April 2012.
Feel free to share the link with anyone in the Commission who you believe is a valid stakeholder or can help in this process.
If you have any questions, please contact Comm Europa Management with "CMS Online Survey" in the subject.

At the last webmaster forum, it was announced that the new version 3 of the CWCMS would be deployed at the end of June, beginning of July. Unfortunately, the deployment of the new version has proved to be more complicated than expected, software as well as hardware wise. All teams and DGs involved in the project are currently working intensively to complete the deployment by the end of July. At that moment we will start the migration of the data from version 2 to version 3. We expect that several iterations will be necessary during August to stabilize the migration procedure. When this milestone is reached, probably by the end of August, we will ask all webteams to do an in depth quality control of their website in the new environment, including the testing of possible specific updating processes. The definitive date for going live will depend upon the outcome of these tests, but we expect that it can take place at the end of Q3 2010.
