The "traffic light chart" on the governance tools shows how Member States have performed as regards those governance tools that have been monitored on the basis of selected indicators in each area. A second traffic light chart further below follows the same concept but shows the performance of Member States in key Single Market policy areas. It currently only features a very limited number of areas, but the aim is to further expand it in the coming years.
The traffic light charts not only highlight where performance is above average (green), average (yellow) and below average (red), but also show at a glance the areas where Member States are doing well and those where more effort is needed.

Click on a green, yellow or red square (representing the performance of a Member State with regard to a particular tool or policy area), and you will be directed to a "country sheet" for the country concerned. This explains in brief why a country has been rated green, yellow or red for each Single Market tool. These country sheets can also be accessed via the tab Performance per Member State.
