Statistics - Professionals moving abroad ("establishment")
Statistics on establishment show the number of decisions taken for professionals qualified in one Member State who apply for recognition in another country within the EU Member States, EEA countries and Switzerland to practise there on a permanent basis.
Statistics cover the number and types of decisions taken by host countries.
Statistics can be viewed in four different ways:
- Statistics by the generic name of profession
The statistics grouped by generic profession (example: "tourist guide") show the number of decisions taken in host countries. First select the relevant generic profession then click on the establishment/ statistics tab. - Statistics by regulated profession by country
The statistics for regulated professions by country (example "guida turistica" in Italy) show the number of decisions taken in host countries. First select the relevant regulated profession then click on the establishment/ statistics tab. - Statistics on the geography of mobility
These statistics for generic professions show the movement of professionals between country of qualification and host country. First select the relevant generic profession then click on the geography of mobility tab (example: geography of mobility "tourist guide"). - Overall statistics
Overall statistics show the number of decisions taken for all regulated professions for all periods and all levels of the directive in all host countries. It is also possible to filter statistics by period, by recognition regime and by country.
Types of decisions
The following types of decisions can be taken:
- Positive Automatic General System (no compensation measures imposed): this type of decision covers cases where recognition is granted under the General System without compensation measures (professions falling under the General System or applications not eligible for automatic recognition).
- Positive Automatic Sectoral professions: this type of decision applies to the seven sectoral professions (doctors, nurses, dentists, midwives, pharmacists, veterinary surgeons, architects) covered by a system of automatic recognition, based on the harmonisation of minimum training requirements.
- Automatic recognition of professional experience ('crafts'): this type of decision (positive decisions) applies to professions in the areas of craft, trade and industry (Annex IV of Directive 2005/36/EC) covered by a system of automatic recognition based on professional experience.
- Positive after adaptation period (general system): this type of decision applies to applications examined under the general system. Recognition is granted after the completion of an adaptation period.
- Positive after aptitude test (general system): this type of decision applies to applications examined under the general system. Recognition is granted after the completion of an aptitude test.
- Negative Automatic General System and professional experience ('crafts'): this type of decision applies to all recognition regimes and covers cases where recognition is not granted.
- Negative Automatic Sectoral professions: this type of decision applies to the seven sectoral professions (doctors, nurses, dentists, midwives, pharmacists, veterinary surgeons, architects) and covers cases where recognition is not granted on the basis of automatic recognition.
- Negative after aptitude test (general system) : this type of decision applies to applications examined under the general system and covers cases where recognition is not granted after the completion of an aptitude test.
- Negative after adaptation period (general system): this type of decision applies to applications examined under the general system and covers cases where recognition is not granted after the completion of an adaptation period.
- Appeal: decisions object of appeals under national law.
