Conference: Modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive
When and where?
What is it about?
The modernisation of the Professional Qualifications Directive is one of the priorities for the EU under the Single Market Act. The Commission is committed to delivering a legislative proposal before the end of this year in order to meet the Act’s ambitious objectives. To this end, an extensive evaluation of the Directive over the last year and a half culminated in a Green Paper which set out ideas for enhancing the mobility of professionals in the Single Market. There has been large interest from stakeholders; we have received around 400 responses to the Green Paper. The Conference will be an opportunity to take stock of the various positions in advance of the Commission’s proposal in December.
Who is invited?
The conference can cater for up to 240 participants. It is mainly targeted at citizens, professional organisations, national governments and national competent authorities.
What are the practical arrangements?
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided from and into English and French.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. However, the Commission will NOT be able to reimburse participants for their travel and accommodation expenses.
