Information on Instruments
according to Article 22(4) of the 85/611/EEC UCITS Directive

Article22(4) of the Council Directive85/611/EEC of 20December 1985 on the coordination of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS), as further amended, allows Member States to raise investment limits for harmonised investment funds (UCITS) regarding their investment in certain bonds which meet the requirements set out in this provision. According to Article22(4) third sub-paragraph, it is the aim of this web-site to make information received from Member States public.

This shall improve transparency and provide easy access to information on the legal basis allowing for the issue of instruments meeting the requirements of Article 22(4) and – as far as possible – information on the eligible individual instruments and their issuers. However, due to the ongoing expiration and new issues of these bonds, information on this site cannot be exhaustive or updated daily. Therefore it is advisable to get in touch with the contact point if up-to-date and precise information on the eligibility of a certain bond is needed. Almost all information contained in this web-site has been provided by Member States in the course of October – November 2008 and is displayed in the form the Commission has received it. Therefore, please address the contact points in case of further queries or suggestions.
