Communication “A Single Market for Intellectual Property Rights” – 24.05.2011

An effective system to manage and protect intellectual property rights (IPR) is essential for fostering innovation, growth and competitiveness in the Single Market.

On May 2011 the European Commission adopted a wide-ranging strategy on IPR. This strategy set out a blueprint for a number of initiatives the Commission intended to take in various areas, including patents, trade marks, geographical indications, copyright licensing and digital libraries.
