Background informationOn 18 December 2007, the Commission issued a Communication which underlines the Commission's support for the provision of financial education in the Member States. Reaching a wide audience is one of the success factors for financial education programmes. Therefore, the Commission has developed this database to disseminate information on the wide range of financial education programmes available across the EU. The European Database for Financial Education is open for all types of providers to submit new schemes. The current list of schemes is based on a survey published by the Commission in November 2007.
