| Objective of the consultation |
| The purpose of this consultation was to collect
stakeholders' reactions to the findings of a broad study on interest
rate restrictions in the European Union. The study explores the
economic, financial, social and consumer protection implications of
the imposition of interest rate restrictions. It had been announced
in the 2007 White Paper on the integration of EU mortgage
markets. |
