What Was It?
Single Market Week ran from the 15th – 20th October 2012 with events taking place across the 27 Member States of the European Union. The Launch Event of Single Market Week took place on Monday 15th October in the European Parliament in Brussels. With over 400 participants including Manuel Barosso, President of the European Commission, Mario Monti, President of the Council of Ministers and Michel Barnier, Commissioner for Internal Market and Services as well as many others including citizens from all across Europe, it was an interactive day filled with lively discussion and debate.
The programme for the day focused on:
- Achievements of the Single Market
- Challenges ahead for the Single Market
- Views and expectations of 20 year-olds from across Europe - our so-called "Generation 1992"
