The Internet is one of the most dynamic phenomena shaping social and economic change in the world today. Not surprisingly, therefore, a broad range of policy initiatives and debates on Internet-related issues is taking place thoughout the European institutions.
As part of its broad remit of responsibilities for the Information Society, the European Commission is involved in a large number of activities related to the development, regulation and promotion of Internet technologies and services.
