- The "Privacy Impact Assessment Framework for RFID applications" has been endorsed by the Article 29 Working Party on 11 February 2011 successfully completing a task that started nearly two years ago.

EU MEMBER STATE INITIATIVES:
1) AUSTRIA
- The "Workshop RFID Datenschutz" on the implementation of the RFID PIA in Vienna will take place on October 20, 2011.
2) BELGIUM
- "A privacy impact assessment framework for Europe" on the use of privacy impact frameworks to ensure privacy (Brussels, October 12, 2011). A review of the PIA methodologies of 7 countries can be downloaded from http://www.piafproject.eu/Deliverables.html.
3) FRANCE
- The NATIONAL RFID CENTRE (CNRFID), The French Centre National de Reference (Rousset, France), maintains a comprehensive and evolving FAQ (frequently asked questions) section on the PIA framework that can be consulted on line.
- The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment addressed in detail the RFID PIA Framework implementation in various sectors, in particular retail and healthcare at the Assises de la RFID 30 May 2011 in Paris.
- The "Privacy Impact Assessment Observatory" has published an online data survey for the Privacy Impact Assessment Framework. Link to access the survey.
4) GERMANY
- AIM-D organised the "Das PIA Framework - Umsetzung der europäischen Datenschutzfolgeabschatzung" workshops on June 22, 2011 im Weilburg an der Lahn, on July 1, 2011 im Oberhaching bei München and on July 5 im Barsinghausen bei Hannover in Germany. Link
- AIM-D organises with the support of the German Ministry of Economics and Technology "Privacy Impact Assessment workshops" on October 6 in Berlin, on October 19 in Munich, on October 25 in Frankfurt and November 7 in Berlin.
