Funding
Under
The Competitiveness and
Innovation Framework Programme (CIP), the Information and Communication
Technologies Policy Programme (ICT PSP) supports actions to increase the re-use
of PSI in Europe, including policy development. In the 2009 CIP Work Programme,
€9.5million have been earmarked for:

A thematic legal network that will identify
legal barriers to the re-use of PSI in the digital environment and suggest ways
to overcome them
-
Projects in the Geographical Information
field that will work on wider access and re-use of spatial data by public
and private sector organisations and citizens. They will contribute to the
INSPIRE initiative and other
relevant policy initiatives.
The call for proposals for these actions closed
on 2 June 2009 and selected projects are to start work early 2010. It is
expected that additional actions will be covered by the 2010 CIP Work programme
expected to be published toward the end of 2009.
