EU Spectrum Summit
Brussels, 22-23 March 2010
The European Parliament and the Commission co-organised a Spectrum Summit to identify what stakeholders view as the strategic issues for spectrum policy in the coming years.
The summit was proposed during the negotiations that led to the new regulatory framework for electronic communications services, as an important means of informing and discussing with key decision-makers and stakeholders the key strategic objectives to be achieved by a coordinated EU spectrum policy, and to provide input to the Commission's work in preparing the forthcoming strategic Radio Spectrum Policy Programme.
The event takes place over two half-day sessions, consisting of two consecutive workshops on the first afternoon and a plenary discussion on the second day. A list of invited speakers will launch discussion in each session, but the intention is to enable also interventions from the floor. The number of seats is limited to the capacity of the room, but an overflow room with an audiovisual link will also be available. There will also be live webstreaming, the link for which will be available here on this page.
See the programme for further details.
The summit took place in the European Parliament building in Brussels. Interested participants are required to register by filling in the registration form by Monday 15 March at the latest.
Interpretation will be available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Polish.
Web streaming: The event will be streamed via EP Live. (Weblink: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/wps-europarl-internet/frd/live/live-program?language=en - category ITRE);
