This morning, Ministers adopted a revised mandate to facilitate the next stage of negotiations between the Irish Presidency and the European Parliament on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy.

22. aprīlī Luksemburgā notika zivsaimniecības padomes sanāksme, kurā norisinājās viedokļu apmaiņa par kopējās zivsaimniecības politikas pamatregulu. Diskusiju galvenais objekts bija trīs jautājumi, kurus Īrijas prezidentūra izvirzīja atbildīgajiem ministriem, proti: (1) vienošanās par laika grafiku sarunu noslēgšanai ar EP, lai līdz vasarai panāktu politisku vienošanos; (2) elastīguma robežas saistībā ar galvenajiem jautājumiem (MIS, zivju izmetumu aizliegums, reģionalizācija, flotes kapacitātes pārvaldība); (3) kā risināt institucionālus jautājumus saistībā ar daudzgadu plāniem.

Trīspusējās sarunas starp Eiropas Parlamentu (EP), Īrijas prezidentūras pārstāvjiem, kuri pārstāv Padomi, un Komisiju attīstās ar mērķi panākt vienošanos par kopējās zivsaimniecības politikas (KZP) reformu. Notikušas jau četras tikšanās, un plānotas vēl četras tikšanās aprīlī un maijā.

EU Commissioner Maria Damanaki and Irish Minister Simon Coveney presented an update of current negotiations on the reform of the EU Common Fisheries Policy to the Chairpersons of Agriculture and Fisheries Committees of the National Parliaments of EU countries at a meeting in Dublin.
