O Conselho «Pescas» reuniu-se no Luxemburgo a 22 de abril, tendo havido uma troca de pontos de vista relativamente ao Regulamento de Base da Política Comum das Pescas. O debate centrou-se em três questões colocadas aos Ministros pela Presidência Irlandesa: 1) o acordo relativamente ao prazo para a conclusão das negociações com o PE, tendo em vista chegar a um acordo político até ao verão; 2) a margem de flexibilidade em assuntos-chave (RMS, proibição das devoluções, regionalização, gestão da capacidade das frotas); 3) qual a abordagem às questões institucionais relacionadas com os planos plurianuais.
