The 34th annual meeting of the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organisation (NASCO) took place in Varberg, Sweden, from 6 to 9 June and discussed new initiatives to better understand the threats and conservation challenges facing the Atlantic salmon, while improving the implementation of already adopted conservation and management measures and guidelines.

On 15-16 June, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini will co-host, together with the Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Timo Soini, a high-level event on the European Union's Arctic Policy in Oulu, Finland.

“Towards an implementation strategy for the Sustainable Blue Growth Agenda for the Baltic Sea Region,” presents the results of a systematic stakeholder dialogue in the region. Initiated by the European Commission in September 2016, the aim of the dialogue was to identify and discuss in greater depth the processes necessary to realise the Baltic Blue Growth Agenda in the coming years.
