Sustainable development of the blue economy of the Black Sea, 30 January 2014, Bucharest, Romania

A stakeholder's conference organised by the European Commission and hosted by Romania will offer a forum to public administrations and private sector participants of all Black Sea countries to exchange views on the challenges and opportunities offered by the blue economy of the region. It will also seek to encourage cross-sectorial initiatives to stimulate maritime growth in areas of mutual benefit. The working sessions of the conference will aim to facilitate maritime cooperation and specifically in maritime clusters, environmental protection, fisheries management and aquaculture.
Atlantic strategy: workshop on directly managed funds and operational programmes, Brussels
The European Commission is organising on a workshop on how to access and mobilise directly managed EU funds (i.e. those managed by the Commission) to pursue implementation of the Action Plan for a Maritime Strategy in the Atlantic area.

European Parliament votes for better maritime spatial planning
The European Parliament voted to support the Commission's proposal for a Directive on Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) and Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) - a cornerstone policy of the EU's Blue Growth agenda.
