"Our Ocean" Conference (Washington DC, USA)

Commissioner Damanaki will attend the international ocean conference hosted by the US State department on June 16-17, 2014 in Washington DC, USA.
During the "Our Ocean" conference high level representatives will have the opportunity to discuss pressing issues such as sustainable fisheries, marine pollution, and ocean acidification. Following the invitation of Secretary of State John Kerry, Commissioner Damanaki expressed her appreciation for the event: "It means a lot for me personally and as Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries that ocean affairs are gradually moving up on the world's agenda. The well-being of our seas is a matter that concerns us all - we need all occasions to exchange views and all opportunities at hand to make progress happen".
