Lisbon Atlantic Conference 2013
(26/11/2013) The conference, under the theme “Atlantic´s Blue Growth”, is being organised by the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture and Sea, in partnership with the Mayor of Lisbon, and will take place on the 4th and 5th of December.
Following the public announcement, two years ago, of the EU Maritime Strategy for the Atlantic area, the organisation of this event is intended to offer a chance to look at a streamlined vision of the Atlantic addressing blue growth and sustainability, boosted by two years of “stocktaking outreach in mobilizing and engaging Member States, regions, municipalities, the science community and the business sector, together with an unprecedented intercontinental cooperation engagement”
LAC 2013 is expected to provide not only a “peer review” kind of perception for the audience about the progresses made so far, but also an important moment to identify future opportunities in the framework of the EU and National Ocean Strategies and related Action Plans, with the aim of achieving a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth within the Atlantic area and its coastal zones.
Registration is free of charge (must be completed until November 30) and simultaneous translation will be provided in English, French and Spanish.
