News :: Smart Grid regulation and Energy Efficiency initiatives presented at the EU Sustainable Energy Week
(25/06/2012) The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), 18-22 June 2012, provided the forum for the European Commission to present its actions in the field of Smart Grids regulation and Energy Efficiency in Buildings.
A discussion on Smart Grid regulation took place in the morning of 20th June in Brussels, Belgium. The event aimed to highlight the developments in Smart Grid regulation from both the energy and the telecommunications side. In addition, the European framework could benefit from alignment to the national regulatory strategies.
Three EU funded projects EnRiMa, ICT4E2B Forum and IREEN gathered in the afternoon of 20th June in Brussels, Belgium to present ICT solutions in Energy Efficiency in Buildings. The participants were invited to discuss on how to progress in the preparation of a roadmap for the use of ICT in buildings; on strategies for its adoption on large scale scenarios, in districts and neighbourhoods. The starting point was an ICT management solution, developed by one of the EnRiMa project.
