Stop Press: TAI-CHI judged “Best Exhibit” at IST 2006
Tai-Chi, an exhibit illustrating the use of everyday surfaces for transmitting data to computers, was awarded the top prize of €10,000 in the Best Exhibit Award at IST 2006, sponsored by NOKIA.

The fascinating Tai-Chi demonstration was declared grand prize winner from among three winners by a jury of independent experts with experience in event communications and EU research, based on over 2700 votes cast by delegates at the Event via this website.

Background
The European Commission is announcing a €10,000 prize for the Best Exhibit Award, sponsored by Nokia, in the Exhibition at IST 2006 Event. The winning exhibit will receive €10,000 on 23rd November 2006 at the final session of the IST 2006 Conference.
The aim of the contest is to encourage exhibitors to improve their exhibits and promote their stands within the Exhibition. The objective is to engage the visitors through explaining the stand and interacting with the demonstrations. Visitors can then vote for their favourite exhibits.
This contest is only open to the Research and Technology stands within the IST2006 Exhibition and the voting can only be done by the delegates to the Event.
How to Vote
All delegates to the conference will have three votes via the tickets that can be found in their badge holder. Visitors can vote by going to the exhibit page on the event website and entering the unique code printed on each ticket. Alternatively, the visitor can give the ticket to the exhibitor who can do the online code entry for them. Each ticket can only be used once.
Finalist Selection
A jury composed of independent experts with experience in event communications and EU research activities will examine the most popular exhibits from the voting and select three finalists.
Award Ceremony and Winner
All three finalists will be awarded with a certificate signed by representatives of the European Commission and the Finnish Presidency of the European Union.
The jury will also select the overall Winner of the Best Exhibit Award, who will be awarded the Grand Prize of €10,000 which is sponsored by Nokia. The award ceremony will also feature two other awards.
The Commission reserves the right to change any of the above without prior notification.
