European IST Prize
The European Information Society Technologies Prize (EISTP) is the most distinguished prize for innovative products and services in the field of Information Society Technologies.
The Prize at a Glance
The EISTP, now in its tenth year, provides public recognition and a highly visible profile to innovative companies that convert novel ideas into marketable products. The high standards of applicants and the competitive screening procedure for selecting the Winners make this prize the most distinguished for new information society driven products.
Organised by Euro-CASE with the sponsorship and support of the IST Programme, the European IST Prize is open to companies or organisations from 33 countries with an innovative IST product with promising market potential. A total of € 700,000 will be awarded.
430 candidates from 29 countries compete for this year's EISTP. This very high number of applications confirms the relevance of stimulating and awarding European IT innovation. 20 Winners were selected on 17 September 2004. They come from Finland, France, Ireland, Israel, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
The 20 EISTP Winners receive € 5,000 each and will be invited to exhibit their products at the IST Event Exhibition in The Hague/Netherlands from 15 to 17 November 2004.
Three Grand Prize Winners will be selected among the 20 Winners. They will each receive € 200,000 and the European IST Prize Trophy at an Awards Ceremony organised in early 2005.
