European IST Prize
The European IST Prize (EISTP) is the most distinguished European Prize for
innovative products and services in the field of Information Society
Technologies.
The Prize at a Glance
Organised by Euro-CASE with the support of the IST Programme, the European
IST Prize is open to companies or organisations from 31 countries with an innovative IST
product with promising market potential. Applications from 420 projects from 28 countries
were received by this year's 15 May deadline.
The EISTP
Ceremony took place on Thursday, 2 October, and featured all twenty Winners (visit the EISTP
Village) as well as:
- Erkii Liikanen, Commissioner for Enterprise and Information Society,
- Lucio Stanca, Italian Minister for Innovation and Technology,
- Pasquale Pistorio, President and CEO of STMicroelectronics and chairman of the Executive
Jury, who, as master of ceremony, will be assisted by the Italian journalist Alessandro Cecchi
Paone.
Three of the Winners were awarded EISTP grand prizes, worth 200.000euros
