Visas

All foreigners visiting Russia need a visa. Participants can apply for a Tourist or Business visa.

Tourist visas are issued for shorter stays up to 30 days and obtained on the basis of an invitation from a Hotel or tourist agency. An invitation is received from the Hotel, normally in connection with the room reservation. With this invitation a visa application is made at the Russian embassy or consulate who estimated processing time of about 2 weeks. The cost is 35€.

Business visas are issued for longer stays and are obtained on the basis of an official invitation from the hosting organisation registered with the Russian Ministry of the Interior or the Russian Foreign Ministry. The processing time for receiving the official invitation is up to 4 weeks. After this the visa application at the Russian embassy or consulate can be made, estimated processing time of about 2 weeks. The cost is varies depending on the applicants nationality.

How to acquire a Tourist visa:

1. Request invitation letter from Hotel when booking Hotel accommodation.
2. Apply for visa at your nearest Russian embassy or consulate, bringing the following information:

-Invitation letter from Hotel
-Two copies of completed and signed visa application form (attached)
-Passport valid min 6 months after departure from Russia
-2 passport-size photos signed on the back

How to acquire a Business visa:

1. Request invitation letter from the Russian NCP Dr Marine Melkonyan (procedure will be done through the Institute of Operating Systems and RF Ministry of Education and Science) attaching the following information:
-Scan of passport
-Completed and signed visa application form (attached)

2. Apply for visa at your nearest Russian embassy or consulate, bringing the following documents:

-Invitation letter from the Institute of Operating Systems and RF Ministry of Education and Science
-Two copies of completed and signed visa application form (attached)
-Passport valid min 6 months after departure from Russia
-2 passport-size photos signed on the back

The conference takes place in the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel (website).

In this context, the hotel is offering special rates for the conference participants. These rates are as follows:

Hilton Guest Room 9,000 Rubles for Single Occupancy; 10,000 Rubles for Double Occupancy
Hilton Deluxe Room 10,000 Rubles for Single Occupancy; 11,000 Rubles for Double Occupancy
Hilton Executive Floor 11,500 Rubles for Single Occupancy; 12,500 Rubles for Double Occupancy

Notes:

Rates are offered per room per night and includes Buffet Breakfast, use of Fitness Center, Saunas and Swimming Pool and Morning Newspaper.
Rates do not include 18% VAT.
Rooms located on Executive Floor have access to Executive Lounge were complimentary hors d’ouvres and beverages are served with compliments to the guests. Executive Floor also has two computer stations where internet is offered free of charge.
A credit card number is required to guarantee the reservation.
Please also note that the above rates may not be available after the 14th of October.

Staying in the hotel that the conference takes place saves travelling time which in some cases could be considerable due to the perpetual travel congestion in Moscow.
