Top story: 3 FET physicists receive Nobel Prize awards
In recent years 3 European scientists have been honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics. Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg received the 2007 Nobel Prize for the discovery of the Giant-Magneto-Resistance effect. Theodor Hänsch received the 2005 Nobel Prize for his work on laser-based precision spectroscopy.
Such international recognition for European researchers shows the value and potential of long term research and the European Future and Emerging Technologies research scheme is honoured to have contributed to the research leading to these awards. Find out more about this achievement.
