Attracting leading edge excellence in ICT is essential for Europe to compete on the global scene. The "ICT Excellence Matters" high level panel discussion aims to explore options for Europe to be a "place par excellence" for ICT R&D.
It will be preceded by a keynote presentation by A Fert (Nobel Prize laureate 2007) on "ICT Science Matters: The Impact of Spintronics on ICT" that will showcase European ICT excellence in action and outline the high potential of foundational research to deliver transformational impact for Europe.
The High Level round table discussion will explore Europe's position today in ICT research and what is needed to create the most favourable conditions to ensure Europe's attractiveness for ICT investments and skills in an era of increasing global competition.
