Measuring progress - Overview
i2010 Annual Report
The i2010 Annual Report is the main document which reviews and assesses progress in the implementation of the i2010 initiative. The most recent report, published in April 2008, reviews market trends and progress in the information society in EU Member States and EEA countries, compares the countries according to key ICT indicators, updates the list of foreseen actions and lists all actions launched since the initiative started.
Benchmarking
Comparing the development of the information society in the Member States on the basis of certain indicators as well as best practice is an important part of i2010 assessment. Such benchmarking is carried out on the basis of statistical surveys and studies. The results are available in the benchmarking section and every year they are reviewed in the i2010 Annual Report.
Studies
The European Commission announces calls for external analyses of selected topics within the scope of i2010. The studies/tenders section contains information on open calls as well as on-going and completed projects.

Broader perspective: ICT in Lisbon Strategy
As the Commission sets out its actions in the i2010 strategy, the Member States define their own actions in the National Reform Programmes within the broader framework of the Lisbon strategy for growth and employment. Those programmes include ICT-related priorities. The Commission's Annual Progress Report on Growth and Jobs assesses the state of implementation of the National Reform Programmes and of the EU level reforms under the Lisbon agenda.
