i2010 high level conferences
Visby Agenda: creating
impact for an eUnion 2015, Visby, Sweden, 9-10 November 2009
This i2010 conference, held by the Swedish Presidency addressed the future of Europe's ICT policy.
It looked at priorities for a new ICT strategy when i2010 comes to an
end. Priorities for the common ICT policy agenda were discussed from
different perspectives: policy, technology and innovation, business and
market, social progress and utility: in other words, the user
perspective. The high-level conference brought together delegations from
the Member States, the European Commission, European Parliament and
stakeholder organisations.
Sweden had prepared a report that formed the basis of the conference:

Building on i2010: Which services and networks for tomorrow? - Paris, 9 September 2008
The purpose of this conference was to accelerate the development of
infrastructures and services of the future and to stimulate reflection
on what needs to be done to foster their growth. Addressed subjects will
include the internet of the future, fixed and mobile high-speed
broadband, secure mobile services and information system security.

Information Society at the Crossroads, Brdo, Slovenia, 13-14 May 2008
The conference, organised by the Slovenian Presidency, addressed the main topics raised by the
mid-term
review of i2010, in particular: future networks, pan-European
services and products, as well as the perspective of users in the
digital environment.
i2010 – Towards a Ubiquitous European Information Society, Helsinki,
28 September 2006
The conference, hosted by the Finnish Presidency, examined the
opportunities and challenges associated with a "ubiquitous" information
society, in which people’s ways of life and work will be based on having
ICT services available everywhere, at all times.
Presidency Conclusions
on this event list around 20 policy goals that should ideally be

i2010 Conference, London, 6 September 2005
The first i2010 conference, hosted under the UK Presidency of the EU,
presented a key opportunity for governments and business from across the
EU to actively contribute to the definition of the i2010 strategy.
Working on growth with Europe: Looking into the future of ICT,
Amsterdam, 29-30 September 2004
This preparatory conference for i2010 was organised by the Dutch
Presidency to discuss the future ICT policy in Europe. The discussion was
stimulated by a report commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Economic
Affairs and prepared by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, “Rethinking the European
ICT Agenda - Ten ICT-breakthroughs for reaching Lisbon goals”
(1,8 MB).
