Impact Assessment
The impact assessment identified options for policy actions in the field of ICT beyond 2005. It was based upon extensive consultation and empirical evidence. In the context of the renewed Lisbon strategy for European growth and employment, it offered a timely opportunity to assess information society initiatives to follow the eEurope Action Plan, which came to an end in 2005. The Extended Impact Assessment was presented as a supporting document to the i2010 Communication, which took this assessment into account and went one step further to deliver the policy strategy for the following five years.
