European youth into the digital age
Every European citizen should be equipped with the skills needed to live and work in the information society. eEurope proposes to connect all schools to the Internet, to adapt school curricula and to train teachers to use digital technologies.
In order to ensure that these objectives are met, on March 28, 2001, the European
Commission adopted the
Action plan.
A staff working paper by the Commission highlights and analyses the results of benchmarking the take-up of new technologies in European schools. Find it on the documents page.
What has been done so far?
Progress on all action lines of eEurope is monitored has been monitored at three levels - progress at EU level, progress at Member State level and data collection in the context of benchmarking. Progress reports by Community institutions and Member States have been updated end of 2001.
