>Study on
"Towards an overall measurement methodology of the carbon and energy footprints of the ICT sector" – SMART 2011/0073 -The objective of this study is to identify and carry out
critical analyses of the existing methodologies and initiatives
aiming at measuring the GHG emissions and energy consumption applicable to
the ICT sector (ICT products, services and companies).
The expected result is to get a clear picture and critical comparison of
the methodologies and initiatives that exist or are in
preparation, in the EU and globally.

>Study on "Methodology for energy-efficiency measurements applicable to ICT
in buildings" – SMART 2011/0072
The study should allow
- to collect the appropriate data and produce a better quantitative analysis of the energy savings potential of ICT solutions in residential and non-residential buildings,
- to define a common way to establish and calculate the energy savings for non-residential buildings.
It would facilitate the evaluation of behavioural changes occurring due to the installation of ICT solutions and better public awareness. The findings can also be used in order to take future policy decisions, to determine future research areas and topics to support from EU funding.
> Duration must not exceed 9 months.

Study on "The practical application of the new framework methodology
for measuring the environmental impact of ICT – cost/benefit analysis" – SMART
2012/0064
Dedline: 10/05/2012
The objective of the study is to assess whether the coherent methodological
framework for measuring the GHG and energy footprints
of ICT are suitable for the integration into concrete policy measures that
contribute to the "greening" of ICT.
The contractor is expected to examine a broad bandwidth of relevant measures
that could be based on the methodological framework. This should include
mandatory and voluntary initiatives which could be relevant for ICT products,
systems, services and organisations.
On the basis of a mapping of relevant measures and an analysis of trends in the
ICT sector the contractor should identify most promising options and analyse
these in more depth.
> Duration must not exceed 8 months.
> The total price quoted cannot exceed EUR 140 000.
