Involving civil society

In order to make its actions and activities more efficient, the Safer Internet Programme is bringing together views and opinions of stakeholders from all fields. The civil society is represented by the national youth panels set up by the Safer Internet Centres and consulted on safer Internet issues. In addition, a network of NGOs that activate in the field of child welfare online is funded in order to represent the civil society in relation to child protection on the Internet and new media in Europe.

The European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online (ENACSO II)

The European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online (ENACSO II) consists of children’s rights NGOs leading efforts on child internet safety from across the EU.

It will share expertise and best practice on key policy areas related to child online safety, developing consistent positions and approaches.

On this basis, it will forge joint strategies for change, and promote its recommendations to national, European and international decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders, including in relation to the way the governance of the internet develops into the future.
