Public Consultations

To explore certain issues the Commission launches public consultations aimed at bringing about views of all relevant stakeholders. The topics of the public consultations are usually focused on the perspective of children using the latest communication technologies and services, the risks associated with their use, as well as on the best means to address these risks.

Age verification, cross media rating and social networking (2008)
Online technologies for children (2007)
Child safety and mobile phone services (2006)

The result of the public consultations have been used mostly for feeding discussions during the Safer Internet Forum, but also for shaping and adjusting the annual work programmes that set the lines for the implementation of the Safer Internet programme.
