The i2010 subgroup on eHealth, which consist of MS representatives from the eHealth ministers of innovation and/or technology ministers, and its expert groups hold regular meetings which are by invitation only. Future and past engagements will be listed below.

i2010 subgroup on eHealth - 09/07/2009, Brussels
The subgroup met in Brussels and discussed the following points:

A presentation of case studies was given by the 'EHR Impact' Study showing clear benefits of electronic health records for better care for less.

The group is encouraged to continue working on cooperation on eHealth implementation, in particular on building confidence in and acceptance of eHealth services, bringing legal clarity, ensuring protection of health data, solving technical issues and facilitating market development.

Two parallel sessions allowed MS to exchange information on implementation of the EC recommendation on cross-border interoperability, one year after its adoption. Feedback from Member States on the implementation of the recommendation will be requested. The CALLIOPE thematic network will support the EC in collecting and analysing the results.

The Swedish Presidency confirmed eHealth as a priority issue. The Swedish presidency will present a paper with options for eHealth governance possibilities in August.

The E.C. presented: the forthcoming eHealth Conference 2010 in Barcelona (15-18 March 2010); the Draft Staff working document on legal aspects of telemedicine; an update on Post i2010 strategy; the LMI Mid-term review and the ongoing INFSO studies.
