RISERid
RISER gains private investor for European market rollout

The European market rollout of the Registry Information Service on European Residents (RISER Service) will be strengthened by the engagement of the corporate financing specialist FCF Fox Corporate Finance GmbH. RISER is facilitating the retrieval of information from official population registers for the purpose of cross-border address verification via the Internet. With the backing of FCF, this eGovernment service will be extended to 19 European Member States by 2009.

RISER has been one of the most successful eGovernment projects in Europe, supported by numerous partners from selected European member states. Since July 2007, FCF is the new majority shareholder of the newly established RISER Informationsdienst GmbH. “We will expand RISER into the leading source for seamless, secure and electronic address verification through European public registers.” stated Mr Arno Fuchs, CEO of FCF.

Information from public registers is one of the most important sources for business and public administration in Europe as it ensures access to correct addresses. Approximately 1.3 billion inquiries are addressed to European public registers annually. RISER offers the opportunity to request address information online - through its web portal - from public registers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary, Ireland and Estonia. The service already covers more than ¼ of the European population.

RISER is supported by the European eGoverment programme eTEN of the European Commission and has been developed since 2004 by PSI AG, Berlin. Further RISERid partners are AS Andmevara (Estonia), IDOM 2000 (Hungary), ARAM (Poland), KDZ Centre for Public Administration Research (Austria), Fraunhofer-Institute FOKUS (Germany), Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (Germany), Landesamt für Bürger- und Ordnungsangelegenheiten Berlin (Germany), Wirtschafts-Informations-Dienst GmbH (Germany) and Waterford Institute of Technology (Ireland).
