Introduction
Purpose of the survey
To know more about eTEN website’s users : habits, needs….
To check the quality of the eTEN’s website.
Survey set-up requirements
Anonymous.
Survey on line during 1 month : from 21/11/03 to 04/01/04.
Panel of solicited participants
In order to invite people to participate, an electronic mailing was sent to the potential users that eTEN is or was in contact with. Those were known as Experts/Reviewers, Partners, Current Project Coordinators, National Contact Points (NCPs), Management Committee Members, Guests (registered in the eTEN’s guestbook), European Commission’s services contact points or as the unit’ staff.
And as an additional part, we certainly have some “unexpected“
participants who can be either occasional or regular visitors of our website.
Abstract
As a result, we got 242 respondents.
The general profile we can draw about our typical participants seems to be
mainly :
- Italian : 26% of the respondents
- Men : 79% of the respondents
- Registered as Experts in eTEN database : 77% of the respondents
The website is in general visited to get practical information or to check updates and the website is visited regularly: 80% visits it once a month or more often.
The general assessment of the eTEN’s website is good:
- with for the sections of the website that are seen as useful an average score of 74% of the respondents
- with for the sections of the website where improvements are requested an average score of 26% of the respondents
- with 87% satisfied about the languages in which the information is presented
Among the people who already applied for a call for proposals,
72% were satisfied with the information available on the website.
Among the respondents that already applied to a call for experts, 78% were
satisfied with the given information.
The various technical aspects of the website got all a score of good to very good from more then half of the respondents 61% to 75%. When also the ‘acceptable’ category is taken into account, 92% to 98% of the respondents are satisfied regarding the various technical aspects.
That is certainly why we got 20% of friendly messages in the suggestions’ part: congratulations about the website and its usefulness, encouraging messages.
