Trust and Security

Overview

Trust and Security services are defined to include trust and confidence issues such as trust marks, approved accreditation schemes, risk and fraud management, best practices in e-Business and eCommerce (especially support for SMEs), eprocurement, authentication, and security issues such as access control, data confidentiality, data integrity, and non-repudiation, as well as co-operation for effective networking on CERT/CSIRT systems.

Raising the level of trust and confidence among citizens and consumers is essential to the deployment of e-applications. In order to achieve this, the deployment of best practice should be pursued and the adequacy and suitability of interoperable trust solutions should be verified with the involvement of public administrations, businesses and citizens. The primary objective is to accelerate their involvement in the Information Society through the development of secure network infrastructures and services that have their trust and confidence.
