eLearning

Overview

eLearning is defined to include the use of multimedia technologies and the Internet to improve knowledge transfer and the quality of and access to learning accompanied by a far-reaching reorganisation of learning structures.

The priorities are to support the efforts of the Member States to accelerate the adaptation of education and training systems for all in the European Union and the development of virtual campuses. The ultimate goal of eLearning is to promote lifelong learning by enabling personalised and tailored access to learning at home, at school, at university, at work or on the move by accelerating the deployment of a high-quality education and training system; and by creating appropriate conditions for the development of content, services, for enhancement of reskilling of the workforce and learning environments, and for basic digital literacy for all citizens.
