eInclusion
Overview
eInclusion is defined to include services that strengthen the European social
model; address the specific needs of people with disabilities, the elderly and
the socially disadvantaged; contribute to overcoming socio-economic, geographic
and cultural barriers; and favour the prevention of new risks of "digital
exclusion".
Services should be adapted to the particular needs of disadvantaged groups (in
the special context of access to eBusiness solutions this includes SMEs),
promote independence and assist participation in society for the widest possible
range of users. Objectives include access to government services, education,
employment, new forms of business and commerce, website accessibility, access to
eServices and access to telecommunications and broadcasting as well as services
such as assistive technology service delivery.
