eCall Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Czech Republic, Portugal and Spain, Versailles/France.
This brings to 12 the number of EU Member States that have committed themselves to eCall. The Netherlands has announced its willingness to sign shortly.

SPARC results successfully demonstrated
The results of FP6 road safety research project SPARC (Secure Propulsion using Advanced Redundant Control) were presented and demonstrated on 17 July in Papenburg/Germany. In 42 months, a total of 26 partners developed new technologies and very innovative vehicle architecture based on x-by-wire: the Safety Decision Control System. To show scalability, the systems and its components were integrated in two heavy trucks and two small passenger cars. eCall Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Austria and Germany. This brings to 9 the number of EU Member States that have committed themselves to eCall. Switzerland, Norway and Iceland have signed the eCall MoU as well. The Czech Republic and Spain also stated their support to the eCall signature and announced their signature within short term.
